Default Dual tanks

So last week driving back from Colorado, I went to switch from the front tank to rear tank, when j did the gauge went allll the way past full, blew the fuse in the panel above my left knee, it never actually did switch to the rear tank, I replaced te fuse but still can't get it to switch tanks, where is a good place to start looking for the problem. Thank

When was the last time you used the rear tank?

I guess I would check the switch first. Often when a fuel pump starts seizing up it will blow the fuse but pump and gauge at the same time probably is the switch.

The switch on the dash? I took it apart all the contacts looked fine, how does the fuel selector valve on the frame rail work, could that be broken or stuck on the front tank?

It works by pressure from the selected pump, no power to that.

So if the rear pump is seized or bad, the selector valve won't switch? Do the valves ever get stuck?

Thanks! What are the chances ofthe pump just failing with no previous symptoms of it going out?
