Default dreaded ball joints

Took my truck into the shop to get shook down, since I just got it, and I found out I have both lowers bad and the mech said I have a bad pitman arm, but I read that its a non wearable part, the part I think he saw is the bar coming from the passenger tierod over has 2 balljoint lookin sections on it, dunno what its called. Anyway, I have a 4x4 and it just looks like a weekend project to do the balljoints so I'm planning on doing all 4 while I do it, but HOW do you do them, I keep reading opposites and can't keep stories straight. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also should I do u-joints while i have it apart and how do I do those too lol

All the info you will need, U joints are very simple to do if you have a ball joint press or a large bench vice and some large sockets
