Question different leaf springs?

I have a 1992 Ford F150 that I use to haul wood. I have a broken rear leaf spring and want to put stiffer springs in it. Will 3/4 ton springs bolt in or would I be better off putting stock springs back in with helper springs? I have found that there are different springs available for 3/4 ton trucks and don't know if a certain one will work.

THANK YOU

I think that another member here installed the rear leaf springs from an F250 in his F150 and got something like 3 inches of lift. I am not sure if he had to modify anything to accomplish his task. There are some good mechanics here and they should be able to give you better assistance.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I really don't want the back jacked up 3" so maybe the helper springs would be the better way to go. Does anyone know a good place to buy them? Also what year leaf springs work on a 92? I will buy 2 new or slightly used stock springs for it.

I think '80-'96 springs will fit, but I know '87-'96 will. If you go to the junkyard they will be able to tell you what years interchange.

I put the add-a-leaf kit in my 96 F150 and it lifted the rear almost 2 inches. When I put my atv in the back, the truck sets higher than it did without the atv before I put the kit in. I tried the install myself, but I couldn't get the truck high enough to get enough movement in the leafsprings to add the leaf myself. I had a local 4x4 shop do it for $160 labor. I already had the add-a-leaf kit and the longer u-bolt kit.

i have 3/4 ton springs on my truck now. it did lift the back end up a bit, but not a ridiculous amount. it was a few years ago but i think they were around $100 each new.

It might raise the rear that much if the springs under are sagging one to two inches or more, entirely possible with broken leafs.
