Default Cutting the bumper?

I keep seeing 9th gens with stock front bumpers cut up that look pretty cool. Has anyone done anything like that with an 8th gen? I'm trying to gain the courage to cut my bumper... so use some pictures and persuade me

we mostly cut our bumpers to clear bigger tires, i've seen one on here cut to look like a custom bumper, looked like a skid plate to me.

that would be easy to do, take a piece of tape, run it from the lip on the edge of the buper by the tire down to a point near the mounting holes, and cut along the tape line,

does hitting a guard rail count? Patch of black ice and a 180 spin made a nice vent hole on the drivers side

Here's another take on the cut and chop bumper, if they made a raptor in '92 i think this would have been the bumper.
As for that white truck, Bubba J don't do internet, but i think I should do a build thread because it has some cool stuff going on, He cut the bumper just above the rust hole on one side, then matched the other side, Fordtrucknut, was about dead on with technique, tape your line, eyeball and sawzall, Bubba J used a zip wheel on an angle grinder then a flap disk to straighten the edge smooth.

That's what I've had in my mind for the most part ^^ Only on mine I'd only go out to the side of the truck and no wrap it around, because that's where mine is bent. I just can't find pictures of cut bumpers on '91s! They're all 9th gens

Default Cut bumper for tire clearance

My first attempt at a mild customization of my front bumper.

This is a 1994 XL. I'm running 35 X 12.50's w/a 6 inch front and 4 inch rear lift. Hard hits while wheeling cause the tires to rub the bumper.

I didn't want to go too radical and destroy the ability of my bumper to take impacts.

Plan is to paint the bumper flat black and go from there. Maybe weld some metal onto it here and there. Strictly functional. Fabricated/Store bought bumpers just cost too much to take out and beat up.

I have other tire rub areas in the inner fender/wheel wells (front only) and am working on ideas to remedy these too. Again, trying not to destroy the integrity of the truck.

For your consideration.
