Nice Grille, looks a lot like the honeycomb ones from 04-08

How do you open the hood latch?

probably with a screwdriver. but you can fab up something that would stick over the top of the grille.

Running a cable from the latch to a lever behind the bumper "or any other location other than in front of the grille" would look "cleaner" and also serve as a deterrent for a thief too lazy to follow where the cable goes, should someone want to open your hood. I personally don't care for most modded grilles but yours in an exception.

If you already have an aftermarket alarm, wiring up a solenoid to a momentary output would make popping your hood a breeze. Then the manual lever will be there in case your battery runs down, as a backup.

Look at it this way. You will always have a flat-head screwdriver in hand, the most universal tool in the world, every time you pop the hood. You sir are prepared for anything, I bet bad weather changes course when it sees you coming.
