Default Cruise control stopped working

I have a 1996 F-150 302 EFI extended cab 4x4 and the other day on the way to work with the cruise set it just kicked off and hasn't worked since. I checked the fuse and it was not bad, but I did replace it anyway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Any brake lights out?

If it's the same recall as my 95, it recall doesn't actually effect operation (it just burns the truck to the ground).

Mine did the same thign right after I did the recall on it..Turned out to be the ring inside the steering wheel. Cant remember the exact name right off hand, but was easy fix.. Looks liek a cirlce of brass rings that little contact points ride on for horn and cruise..

Thanks for the help. I had the recall done years ago and no problems since, but who knows. Mine has the airbag steering wheel, is it the same as the others when it come to the clockspring?

Yes, all the clockspring does is allow the wires for your airbag, horn, and cruise control to run down the steering column and not get all wrapped up when you turn the wheel.

Default Speedo okiedokie?

though you didn't mention it, is your speedo still working? I replaced the sensor (on the rear end) when mine quit, but the speedo had also quit.
