My cruise control quit working a few months ago and I don't know what to do to even diagnose the problem. I was told it could be the fuse but everything I read on the Internet said the horn wouldn't work if the fuse was bad and my horn works soo? Could it be a vacuum hose and if so which one or where would it be? I know nothing about how cruise control works. Thanks in advance!
There is lots of stuff you can look at. Mine doesn't work either but I don't drive it on the highway enough to care about cruise but if you search, lots of stuff comes up. Depends on your year of truck and possibly other things to so if you provide that info it would help people who may know what to check. If you want to check the fuse, look under the steering wheel just to the left and there is a fuse box. It should say on there which one is for cruise.
Sorry I thought I put what kind of truck it was. It's a 1995 Ford F-150 5.0L. The fuse for the cruise isn't in the fuse box inside of the truck it's under the hood.
From what I found on the Internet it said it was under the hood so tht doesn't mean it really is. Lol I read all the different fuses on the little door thing for the fuse box inside the truck and nothing about cruise was on it.
Engine compartment power distribution box fuse #5, a 15 amp.
If those are both good or even if they're not you need to take a look at the pressure switch on the master cylinder. The red ones were recalled due to leaking and catching fire, burning up your truck! If it's red DISCONNECT IT IMMEDIATELY, and procure the black switch.
1996 here, 1995 should be same.

Mine wasn't working and it was the wire ribbon in the clock spring behind the steering wheel.
Mine did the same thing, the wrapping around the copper tracers just kinda fell apart and all the copper started touching each other, making my horn randomly honk, embarrassing at first so I hopped right out and unplugged the horn haha.
Here's a pin out for your cruise module connector to help you diagnose
your problem, however if your horn works then a good guess is your deactivation switch is faulty, but always test before replacing.
