It could be the clockspring behind the airbag. Do you hear any "popping" sounds coming the steering wheel when turned? Does the horn work?

Haven't tried the horn? I know my horn doesn't work but I try it every day.

The cruise control module is located behind/near the radio on f-150's, bronco's shouldn't be too far off.

Just curious if any of you know how to confirm whether the cruise control recall has been fixed?

The wire for the master cylinder plug will have been changed, I think it will have some kind of recall label on it. At first they only unplugged it, which disabled the cruise control.
