Crank Position Sensor
Alrighty,
changed out the fuel pump relay, fuel pump would run non stop but only sometimes. apparently the relay gets stuck open or closed sometimes.
She cranked and cranked started getting some sputtering foot to the floor. she started to start then started running like the POS it is. really rough idle. didn't run it long enough to warm it up and couldn't get it restarted (yet) battery is charging.
About the codes I need to find a jump cable gator clips not working out to well.
I was also getting some strange crackling sounds from the rail drivers side. could I have a kind of vapor lock in the rail? doesn't seem likely or possible. Or maybe the pressure regulator needs replacing.
Any Ideas?

Or these work great for $22. http://www.handsontools.com/Equus-In...ol_p_5574.html
There is s shrader/purge valve on the fuel rail.
Do you have access to a fuel pressure gage?

No access to pressure gauge
I plan to keep the truck, it has over 300,000 miles so I can expaect to use the expensive paper clip more than once. Besides the check engine light doesn't work.
It's cranking and eventually sounds as though it wants to start but just can't quite get there, like it being starved for gas.
If I disconnect the vacuum line to the pressure regulator the pressure should increase right?
Mike

You'll like your new expensive paperclip!
Will starter fluid get it to fire a little bit?
