Default Clutch options

I've tried to search for answer, because I remember this topic being discussed a while ago, bu I found nothing. The question is - is there a point to install 11" clutch instead of 10" I have now, and what parts do I need to do it ? I need to replace a flywheel anyway and the clutch assembly within next 2000 miles, so I'm trying to decide if I want to perform a clutch enlargement procedure. Any help & comments are greately appriciated.

P.S. Except help & comments about "Sex and the city 2" and "Twilight" saga. Didn't help with power steering.

The stronger you can make the clutch system the better off you are, bigger is better. If it fits go for it.

That's exactly what I thought But I'm really curious about what it takes to convert. If it will help - I have a 5 spd. Mazda transmission, and not really lots of money for the new clutch.

Default Update

I found this clutch kit on ebay - it fits 5.8L engines. Is there a flywheel to make it compatible with my 4.9L ?

I've had both clutches on my truck with no modifications for either.

you dont have to do anything special to install an 11" clutch, the flywheel is already drilled and tapped for one, but if your going to get a new flywheel, just makesure it istapped for one too, i['m not sure if all are but everytime i've ever put in a new clutch the fly wheel held the 11" too. never had to buy a flywheel just had mine resurfaced.

you just want to match the pressure plate to the GVW of your truck...the pressure plate for a 11in f250 will fit in the 150 no problem but the poundage is too much for the master cylinder...

but yes they make 10in and 11in clutches for the f150 with the correct GVW pressure plates...worth while upgrade if you drive hard or tow alot...

I currently still have my factory original clutch in my truck and I got 120,000 miles now....I am trying for 200,000 before I need to change it...

I've had my flywheel resurfaced once, and iw was done the "russian way" and by russians, so I definitely need a new one . So my last clutch (Thank you for that kit again, Sean) lasted for about 8000 miles and now it's dying, probably because of wrong resurfacing. IDK how it can be done wrong, but if you guys are interested in it, I can provide contacts of the man who did it (j/k). My driving style is rather aggressive i guess, and i get stuck a lot in winter, so I suppose i need a bigger pressure plate and stuff. My GVW is below 8500 pounds, which means I should stick with 10" clutch, but I assume that I do need a bigger clutch. I suppose I also need a new hydraulic, because mine is leaking badly when temp is below 0°F. Apparently being in Russia somehow affects vehicles Thanks again for your help, I'm really grateful

I forgot about that clutch. I can't believe it went out already, although I bet I could do that too.

I realize how interesting it is to get parts for your beast but I always replace the the clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing as a set.
