checking codes?

Default checking codes?

My check engine light just came on the other day im wondering if theres a way to run a code on the truck or something truck runs good and everything is in check so i have no idea why the check engine light would be on? O2 sensor???

Yours is a '96? Then you will need a code reader or some parts stores will read the codes for you for free. Have them read or get them read and post them here. Don't start buying parts until you know how to understand the causes for the codes. Just because you might get an oxygen sensor code doesn't necessarily mean the oxygen sensor is bad. Same with other sensor codes.
