Default catalic converter

i was wondering if anny one knows if i cut off the cats for good becuase there cloged it runs like crap will i have to put a muffler on it or will it be too noisy without i like it loud but i dont like paying for tickets becuase it is too loud. it has a 300 six

I hollowed out my cat so it looks like it's still there. I had to drive it a short distance with the cat removed and it was outrageously loud, but there was no exhaust hooked up from where the cat was all the way back. I don't think the pipe all the way back will quiet it down that much. Same engine.

Im cuttin my cats off of my 96 5.8 and running true duals straight out the back with 3" tips that are 24" long. Ive got a buddy that did the same thing on his 03 and I love it. The Law in my area never looks for cats and honestly we dont ever have any issues with getting tickets from the noise but thats probably because alot of their trucks at the house sound the same way. The tips make a big differece on the way it sounds. It gives it a great rumble when idling and when you get on it WATCH OUT.

thanks for the info i think im going to elimminate my cat and just put a cherry bomb glasspack in place of it at lest it will muffle the sound alittle

Glass packs are alright for a couple of months to me and then they start to break up and sound like sh#!!!!!
