Default Carpet Removal

I have a question. I got a 1991 F150 XLT Lariat and I want to remove the carpet because it is becoming molded from a leak and it kinda stinks in the truck. My question is will there be any long term effects at all if I just leave the carpet out? I really don't think I would mind. But what all does it involve taking it out? Is anything glued or does it just pull out and the insulation too? Please help.

There's a couple wires under there, you might rip them up with your feet. And it will be hot as **** in your truck without the floor insulaton.

Where are the wires located? Like close to the pedals? I was wanting to do this because I'm tired of water sitting in my carpet, it might rust over time and it's gonna cost a lot of money to fix the leak issues because there is more than one leak. Is it painted under the carpet?

I would probably stop water from getting where it ain't supposed to be. Keeping me dry is a feature I like in a vehicle.

that's what I want to do but I don't have the money right now so yeah.. looking for a temporary thing. I eventually want to get these: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=101

And fix the leaking problems because I really love these floor mats. I'm just looking for a solution right now to the smell and everything, I havae no where to keep my truck sheltered so yeah. If I did pull the carpet out, is the insulation glued?

I think it's leaking from the back glass and possibly the windshield too. It's sliding back glass but it's not leading from where it slides because it's not wet right there. It's wet right behind the seat on the wall on the drivers side, and also in the floorboard on both the driver and passenger sides.

Febreeze the crap out of it. And keep something down on the wet spot whenever it rains. Repeat process whenever it rains.

The windshield of my car has rust holes around it. Foil tape, no more leak. It's cheap and doesn't look horrible. Some silicone on the rear window seal or just use the foil.

I just pulled the carpet in my 91 super cab. The floor is painted and the only wire is under the seat witch I think is for the seat belt. There is a little bit of heat shield about the size of floor mats on the driver side and passenger side floor but it peeled up pretty easy. I ended up bed lining my floor.
