Default A/C lines

I'm back, with another question.

So about 9 months ago I had to take out my AC compressor when it died, when I did that my friend whom was helping me cut the hoses out(I mean cut the hose, the connections are still there just no hose) and it never occurred to me to cover the openings.

Now that it is getting warm, I would like to have the AC back now that we have a baby. So I guess is it ok to buy a new hose, install it (already have a new compressor) and put the freon in the system? Or is there something that I am over looking or don't know about? I always appreciate the advice.

Thanks all
Cerelious

You have to change the accumulator and vacuum the system. Change the orifice tube too, it's only $2. I'd blow out the lines too.
