A/C evap core
I have a 93 F-150 and I am 99.9% sure my freon leak is in my evap core. Reasons to suspect it
1 I have tried the green alien blood stuff and can't find the leak anywhere.
2 and this may be totally unrelated. I have in the past not long after an attempt to refill smelled a foul odor in the cab.
Does that seem logical that THAT would be where my leak is? Also. How do I need to attack removing the evap core. Do I have to take apart the dash or do I take it apart from out side? LOOKS like in the diagrams I have seen it is mostly outside with 1 or 2 screws to remove from under the dash to get the AC box that houses the evap core out. Is that right?

Also, once removed, How would I test to see if that was where my leak was coming from? How could I test a salvage yard one before comitting to it?

We'd do it

It comes out under the hood. Remove the inner fender for better access. A new one is like $60, don't waste time with a junkyard one. Mine came from the junkyard, and it leaks. But mine was a no a/c truck so I go everything from the junkyard to have the full system and repair from there. I just never finished repairing.
