A converted R12 system will not be as cold as a system designed for 134A. But mine is pretty cold.

Is the wiring and fittings close or will it be a bit tricky?

i don't think it ties into the ecu at all if so you might just need to pick up a wiring diagram for both trucks

I was paying more attention to the older systems when I decided I didn't want to have to rewire, but the newer stuff looks plug and play too within the common years.

The stuff inside the cab is the same and you don't have to swap anything in there except for the controls if you have a heat only truck like mine.

Mine has a switch for hot and cold so it doesn't need new controls? I just didn't really want to hack the wiring up to bad.
