Unhappy brake problems?

ok...I have searched to the best of my abilities to find this needle in a haystack type of problem....
My (future)father-in-law has a 1991 F-150 4X4 and has had problems with the front right wheel making a loud clicking noise after driving it for only a short period of time..This problem will go away when you apply the brakes even the slightest bit...
Now, what has been replaced....
brake pads
rotor
caliper
wheel bearings

now, the master cylinder is leaking but not severly yet.. I have since pulled it apart and rechecked the bearings and they seemed fine...I cleaned them and repacked them....he says when he diagnosed the problem originally he had the wheel off and he could spin the hub and watch the brake pads catch on the rotor and then release and make the sound....so I am leaning towards the master cylinder and the caliper sticking maybe....but the fact remains that it doesn't show the symptoms immediately and usually only after driving at higher speeds, the slower you keep the truck initially, the later the symptoms arise...oh, also does this when 4X4 is engaged....
if someone else had tackled this issue, please help me help my (future)father-in-law...which will in turn help me into his (better) graces...

thanks in advance

Lee

I know that on the previous generation trucks the front brake lines break down internally to block the flow of fluid back to the master cylinder. This only affects the release of the brakes since to apply them you add pressure that bypasses the blockage.

it clicks with the speed of the truck....and sometimes it will stop on it's own for a minute then start back up....it's almost like something is binding and releasing very quickly... kinda like when we used to put playing cards in our spokes on our bikes as kids.....

did it start before you replaced everything it looks like the only thing down there you havent replaced is your lockin hub assembly but if it stops when you brake i wouldnt guess that is what it is sounds weird good luck

yes, it gets faster as you speed up...not louder, but at some point it will stop then come back if you slow down a little or turn left...turning left seems to make it really show itself..

the clicking was the reason for changing the stuff out in the first place...
