Default brake bleeding issues

So I was bleeding the brakes today since they have been pretty spongy since I bought the truck in November... I loosen the bleeder screw on the driver side rear and nothing comes out when the brakes are pushed in. Take the screw off completely, push brakes again, still no brake fluid. I loosened the brake line going into the wheel and it started dripping, so I don't think that's clogged. My best guess is the wheel cylinder needs to be replaced, yeah? Does the brake fluid go through there before it comes out the bleeder screw? Any ideas/confirmation? Thanks!

yeah, but you should make sure to check your lines for any kinks. if its just dripping out you have a problem further up.

See if there's fluid in the drum.
