thats because the dash lights dont make the color change, thats why the bulbs you pulled out were clear and the color was green, their is an underlay inside the cluster that is the green color.
you have to open the cluster, pull the gauge needles off, peel off the gauge faces, remove the green tint, then re-install the gauge faces, then the needles, only problem is you run the risk of the needles not being back into the right place and the gauge reading incorrect.

The blue LEDs usually overpower the green. But other colors you have too peel the green off. With regular 194 bulbs regardless you have to peel it to my understanding. most people say the LEDs are bright enough to overpower. I plan to try and see if the LEDs over power for my truck. Im not peeling the green and if it don't work. It's not the end of the world.

Thats with the film still on. But I an removing the film on a spare cluster. It's kind of a pain in the *** on these, I just used my knife blade to scrape it off, then clean it up with acetone.
