Default Blocks vs Add Leaf

I'm getting ready to put a 2.5" lift on my 93' f150. I'm not sure what would be better to put in the rear end I have never lift a truck. What's better?

It was so rough I couldn't stand it. I'm sure most people would have been okay with it, but I'm gettin old I guess.

Depending on your cash situation they do sell high lift springs that keep a softer ride.

Blocks will cause the leaf springs to wrap up in a hard braking situation. If the springs "load" then "unload" it will cause a substatial wheel hop...

Yes and no.

Blocks allow the axle to exert extra mechanical leverage to the springs, but on a rear axle it is only a real problem when the blocks are longer. Ford uses blocks stock.

In the 1970s we used to put blocks (Even the early lift kit companies) on the front axles. That turned out to be a very poor practice and there was lots of carnage.

Springs are better but shorter block are not dangerous. If the lift kit companies sell them as part of a kit, I can guarantee they are safe in the suit happy society you live in.

Thanks for the input guys! I ended up going with the add leaf to stiffen it up for towing reasons.
