bleeding the slave out
well i did the swap but the trany wasnt good so got another, but is there any secrets to bleeding the slave cylinder out. i know there a pain and everything, but i need to b able to get some better pettle out of it. any tips?????
Not sure if this will help you at all but here it is.I swapped out my Clutch Master Cylinder on the fire wall last weekend.
I did this because my clutch was not engaging until I put it all the way down and then pushed really hard to make it so I could shift. I tried to bleed from tranny but my pedal hit the floor and stayed there. Led me to believe it was the Clutch Master Cylinder. Undid all I needed to and took out the old, put in the new, hooked everything back up, filled the reservoir with Dot 3 Brake Fluid and pumped the hell out of the clutch with the cap off the reservoir. Had my son pump the clutch and I watched a major amount of bubbles come out with some dirty fluid. I sucked out the dirty fluid with a syringe and replaced with new fluid and kept on pumping.
The clutch works absolutely awesome!!

ps: Oh yeah, I took the clutch switch off the old part and just plugged it back in and stuffed it under my dash so that the cruise control would still work.
I have bypassed the switch for starting my truck.

The bleeder screw is pretty much worthless. With the cap off, push the pedal down as fast as you can and let it come up (or pull it up) as fast as it will go. If you did crack the bleeder screw then the pedal will stay on the floor, but as you do the pumping the pedal will gradually come back.
the brand new slave cylinder was bad. so i took it back. and used the one that came on the junk yard trany which was a newer one. took to bleeds and shifts perfect. i'm good now.
