Default Big Ford Project...Need Help

Ok so here's the scoop. I have a 1992 F150 2wd reg cab long bed with e4od. I want to convert it to an F250 4x4 with a 5 speed. I don't want to hear "Then sell it and buy a new truck". This has sentimental value so the more of the original truck the better...ie i dont want to engine swap to 250 either. This is just a fun and crazy project me and a buddy are trying to do before he goes off to college this winter. any help is appreciated.

like bowtie said, pretty much all you have to do is find a donor that has everything you need on it.

So get a 80-91 F250 4x4 and swap the axles and springs over to my truck as well as the drive train stuff... and I found a Lift Kit that replaces the springs(not add a leaf) so if i do that i wouldn't need to springs, would it be cheaper and easier to buy the dana's off ebay, put the lift kit with new springs, then steal the 4x4 DT from a 150?

look around to see what is the better option. opportunities arise and fall.

Thank you all very much. The reason i'm doing this is to get in some good buddy time before he goes off to school. and this truck was an add on to a loan for a Dodge that I wrecked with liability only and didnt pay off the truck so they added a grand and i got this truck, so i'm trying to make it something to be proud of. I'm a huge dodge fan, but i'll tell you what i've had a 1992 and 1993 f150 and they're just brutal tanks that'll take anything and laugh, and they ride great(although my truck now needs all new bushings)

want it to really treat you nicely? do a few of these

check codes and fix all problems- https://www.f150forum.com/f10/how-re...es-obdi-10907/

do this- https://www.f150forum.com/f33/how-se...-1991-a-31505/

and this- http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63592&highlight=timing+bump

these will help your truck to not only be a tank, but a very smoothly running and reliable one! good luck

thank you very much, this build will be heavily documented, with hopes to post the full build somewhere online. also hoping for a magazine article. i'll keep you posted on both. also if anyone has more info on the actual labor and process as opposed to just the parts that would be greatly appreciated.
