Default Belltech 3/5 drop, shocks?

I am the proud owner of a '95 Flareside that has been made into a Lightning clone. The truck was lowered with the Belltech 3/5 (I-beams and shackles/removed extra leaf) in 1995. I would like to update the shocks. I have looked at the Deutsh Tech units and those are my biggest contender thus far. The truck is my daily driver. Any suggestions?

Default Question about your blue truck

Hey XPSNAKE:

I have a 1995 ford lightning with the flleetside bed being replaced with a flareside. My question is, how did you account for the gap as the bottom of the flareside doesn't line up with the cab. It looks as if you have placed some molding below the door of your blue truck to account for the gap. Where can I find that piece? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Lee

Your bed must be missing it. Good luck finding one. You usually have to buy the whole bed.

Default Question about your blue ford truck

Is there a piece that one can buy that will replace the step ups under the door on each side? I put a flareside bed on a truck that came with a fleetside and once the step up is removed the bottom of the cab then doesn't line up with the bottom of the bed, because the step up made the bottom of the cab and back bed line up. I am trying to customize; therefore, do not want the step up. It's kind of hard to explain without a pic, but just imagine from a side view and remove the step up and you can see where the back bed hangs lower than the cab.

Thanks,

Lee

Cut the lower hanging portion off and remold it with resin and fiberglass. The whole outer bedsides are fiberglass.

The pieces that replaced my cab steps are prototypes from a magazine. They would going to produce them but didn't get enough interest. The original owner of my truck contacted them and got one of a handful of sets. They're molded fiberglass and fill the gap nicely.

Still looking for suggestions on replacement shocks. This will be my towing rig for my '71 Maverick this summer. I am considering an airbag setup in the back to level the ride.
