Bearing preload
I was working on changing the pinion seal and diff fluid. And I have a problem. I don’t have a torque wrench that goes low enough to measure the rotational force to put it back a little higher when installing. Can I just go off the specified torque and count the threads and put it a little higher than that?
I have the drums off so there’s no resistance. Both the Haynes and the ford manual say to use the torque wrench to measure the torque as well. But its not able to measure the torque so I have no idea what to do.
is it worth the risk of blowing up my diff for a seep?
Took 3 or 4 squirts of fluid.
And that hadn’t been checked since April and 800 miles like I should have
Is there a good brand stop leak I could try?

You can't count the threads or mark the nut and expect the preload to be at specs.
You have three options.
1. get the correct torque wrench
2. take it somewhere and have the repair done
3. keep an eye on the gear oil on a regular basis and refill as necessary. If it is just some seepage, I would do this option.
