Default Bad Vacuum Lines

I have a 4.9 with cracked vacuum lines. What does this effect should I be in a hurry to change them?

Yes, you should change them tomorrow or at your earliest convenience and remember, replacing one vacuum line at a time if possible will prevent having to label, remember, or look at the vacuum diagram on the hood. It just makes life easier, IMO.

Yes, replace them ASAP. A cracked vacuum line can easily leak and that bring the the vacuum (suction pressure) down. It can lean out your air/fuel mixture; delay timing advance; change the MAP level; you lose horse power; gas mileage falls; etc, etc, etc. Time for new ones!

I think 5/16" is the size of the common vacuum line seen on Ford's but don't quote me on it.

Is it safe to assume any rubber hose/line will work or does it have to be some certain material or something?

Ha...just realized....I quoted you on it!

Most auto parts stores should have "vacuum line/hose" on a spool in the back and charge per ft.

How many feet of vacuum line does it take to replace them all. If I'm going to change them all and only do them one at a time there is no way to know how much I'll need.
