NOt from Cali. but the auto parts store says I need 2 and a friend used his Computer and it showed 2, so which is correct?

Advanced Auto says it requires 2 Sensor on a 1995 5.8L and a friend hooked his Computer (Pre OBD) up to it and it says 2 O2 Sensor not working properly.

Pre OBD is MTU. You mean "pre-OBD2" maybe.

You really don't want to heat the O2 sensor. What really needs to be done is to heat the metal where the O2 sensor threads into so the heat will make the metal expand and then you will be able to get the O2 sensor out.
