Been there, been stuck...there is a reason that people put the manual hubs on...there is a reason that you want to buy his hubs.

Put the manual ones on. The Auto-hubs suck...especially when they don't engage and you don't find out until are in the middle of a mud-hole.

A friend of mine once told me, when you need four whell drive, you NEED four wheel drive (as in there is no way around it).

I serviced my hubs once a year and never had a problem with auto hubs. My dad did once but they were a little dry, greased them up, worked great. His problem was he couldnt get it out of 4x4.

The first Gen. Explorer auto-hubs really sucked. They would break just by looking at them. The F150 auto-hubs are pretty reliable. Changed mine to manuals to gain the lower end of the transfer case without having to be in four wheel drive.

I hardly use them but in the winter its nice to have 4x4 and not have to keep the axles locked wasting gas.
