Default AOD

Hey guys this might be a stupid question but is the aod an electronic overdrive like the e40d. Or could i run it without a computer. Any info is greatly appreciated.

x2 what chelios said. the only electronics that are on it is the mlps which is basically a neutral safety, which can be bypassed

Hey thanks guys that helps a lot. The next question would be would that tranny bolt up to a 300 6. And im doing a little wok to it. What can that tranny stand up to??

You just have to get the proper linkage to work the od, with out the proper linkage and adjustment you will burn the trans out. I believe pre 87 trucks and mustangs used the mech od transes so you can grab the cable and brackets from them, the only issue is the bracket for the -6 throttle body which might differ from the v8. Lokar performance has a kit it might also work with a fuel inj motor.
