Just did an engine swap 5.0 to a 4.9 that was just rebuilt. Every thing checks out o.k ,like spark and fuel pressure but engine is still not starting.personally I think it is the stator in the distributor, but everybody I talk to says it's not.Does any body have any other ideas?
You're going to have to be a LOT more specific & detailed about how exactly the engines were swapped, what OTHER parts were swapped (radiator, Y-pipe, wiring, EEC, etc...), and what exactly you mean by "not starting". Some people have used that phrase to mean "the key doesn't fit into the lock cylinder"; others to mean "it revs up, but dies in a few seconds"; and everything in-between. Be precise, & unambiguous - we can't see or hear what's happening or not happening, so you have to describe it ALL clearly.
It would also help to see a FULL description of the truck in your signature as this caption describes:

.OK. Steve. Myoriginal engine was a 5.0 1989 out of a f-150. I didn't like the way it pulled so I found a 4.9 out of a 1991 f-150.I had this engine rebuilt. every thing was was swapped ovencluding radiator,y-pipe,wiring harness and the eec .Everything fit like it was supposed to and even after repriming the truck still will not start.I have double checked the timing, checked for spark at both plugs and coil and am getting good fuel pressure. As for starting the key goes in fine every thing works there, it's all new.The engine turns over fine, just will not start.I'm stumped.
