Default Another question.

On my 87, (302, auto, 4x4) The cruise wont work. The speedo is dead on still, and the rear antilock light isnt on...

So im lost what to i check? and how?

I may be wrong but it sounds to me as the (VSS) Vehical Speed Sensor on your transmission is bad. Have you tried running a code check on your truck?

I was finally able to run codes, nothing came up... Wouldnt the speed sensor affect my speedo? Its still accurate

there should be a sensor on top of your third member. pointing towards the front of the truck. i forget what its called though. should have one bolt holding it. its all by itself.

You are probably right about the VSS. I think I read somewhere on the forum about the VSS and cruise.

You've got 2 VSS's. One on the rear end housing for the ABS and one on the tranny (2wd) or transfer case (4x4).
