Air Intake
I know a guy that has a 91 F150, 5.0L, and he was thinking about moving the air intake, for more air, and possibly a better air/fuel mixture. Thing is I dont see exactly what that will help, considering he wants to move the intake right behind the grill.
Think this is worth it?
He would also have to move the intake back up to the stock position every Summer, to avoid the heaps of Arizona dust getting into his engine.

...yeah. How does he plan to pipe around the radiator?
Does he realize it's hot right there, which is not going to help at all? Heated incoming air is not what he's looking for. In fact, you want cooler air. While he's moving, it might be ok, but at a stop it's gonna be bad.
What if it rains? With no protection from the water coming through the grill, that engine will drown itself in a good steady rain. Pumping water into your throttle body usually doesn't provide good results.
How about plumbing it over behind the driver's side headlight, under the coolant/wiper fluid resevoir? There are a several places where fresh air can flow toward the filter, it's about as far from the heat of the motor as you can get, and there's enough cover to keep it fairly safe from water.

A K&N replacement filter for his intake will give him plenty of extra air to his engine. I put one in last summer and could notice the difference immediately. When I stomp on the gas, I can hear the engine sucking in the air. It also helped to increase gas mileage, slightly, so long as I stay out of the gas pedal.
Good point, dixie - but don't you remember when you were younger and would spend hours upon days to prove to yourself that you just wasted a lot of time and money?
...I'll admit that I did that more than a few times!

I have found kits on eBay that are like the k&n full replacement intake tube just shiny and metal and comes with a probably not so great paper filter for around $40 ish
But for another thirty you can get a k&n cone filter and is pretty close to the same thing just about $180 cheaper
