No. Just better spark and runnin a bit better.

 

if yoy want a little more power then advance the timing...ie give it more timing...just dont exceed the fuel or it will ping and kill things...

 

i dont mean to sound like an idiot or anyting, but what exactly is "pinging"....

 

Detonation....sounds like rocks rattling in the cylinders...basically it is the spark comming to early and the combustion happens premature or the spark exceeds the octane rating for the cylinder temperature...
