I forgot to add this factoid.
To see what years interchange go to carpart.com look up part on that site. Whatever year and models parts vehicles come up are the ones that will work.

 

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, from the reading on the other threads, they're not necessarily plug and play in all cases? Seems others have found minor pin differences in doing an exact cluster swap from the same year model.

I remember reading that thread and it was more about making non compatible years work correctly because member could only find that in yard.

 

Yeah, but the post I'm referring to says he got the same year cluster as his and it had a pin change. It was minor, I believe for the abs light. Just something for the guys to look out for and possibly be ready to change the pins. That will be a whole other topic for some.

 

I've read that it breaks down like this..92-93 work--then 94 to 5-95 work--then 6-1995 up to 1996.You have to look on your Trucks Door Jamb to see when it was made,and then match up the Cluster to it.Now I'm not 100% sure on this,but a lot of Guys go by this...Say your Truck has a Date of 4-95 on the Door Jamb you can use a 1994 up to a May 1995 Cluster,and Clusters have Dates on them.So you can go by the Date Code on them as well.I have 7-95 on my Trucks Door Jamb,so I'm going to try to find a Cluster out of a Truck that has a build date of 6-95 & after.Or a Cluster Date Stamped the same..But I plan to look to see what the Date Stamp on my Non-Tach Cluster is prior to buying a Tach Cluster.And if the Date on my Cluster is a 6 or a 7-95 then I'll know if the Date thing is right,but if the Date on my Cluster is before 6-95 then the Date theory is in question....
