adding power seats to unpowered cab
I finally have found a set of powered 96 Explorer Limited seats that will replace my tired old bench and was wondering if anyone knows the best place to gain access to get power from?
Also if someone can send me a wiring diagram for the 96 F150 also- would be very helpful. I already have the one for the 96 Explorer which is where the seats have been sourced from.
Thanks

well figure out how much power these seats will draw. it might be extensive, but if you can remove the fuse block to acess the back, im sure there is a blank spot, that gets constant 12v IF a fuse is present. i dont know how the wires are connected to the fuse block, but you could find the right fuse for the seats and send the power wire from them, to the fuse block through the fuse, that would be a clean install. or just grab power from any hot lead under there. FUSE it though, incase the seat has a short so it doesnt fry more than your pants
the fuse block is how i would do it. maybe someone else has a better idea.

After 6 months (over 100 hours of trial and error labor) the custom power and fully adjustable '98 Explorer Limited leather seats are finally in. I decided against monkeying around with the circuit board and ended up running separate power and ground from the solenoid and fused them off. They work perfectly.

thx guys. Yes two wires fused off after solenoid. I'll post pics tomorrow so you can seehow the wires are run, I've got it all documented for my build book.
Cramped? Well, not really. However, it's definitely more upright which took some getting used to compared to the old bench. I am 6'3" & it isn't cramped for me. I had to go with the buckets since I wanted to build a custom console with downfiring subwoofer which is currently under construction.
