Default ABS Light On

1994 F150; 300; auto.... Front driver side tire blew out yesterday but was able to hobble into local Sears service center for new tire, abs light was not on. Checked the brake pads while the guy had the tire off and they were obviously worn out. Got the new tire on, cranked up and abs light came on. Would worn out disk pads cause an abs alert or could the tire change have easily knocked some abs component loose? Gonna change the pads soon as the 106 degree weather cools and would like to know if I need to be looking for something abs related while I have the brakes apart. Thanks.

You don't have front ABS.

You can pull the abs code if you ground the diagnostic wire and count the flashes of the abs light to see whats going on.

And yes you only have rear ABS (RABS)

Ground it to the frame and watch for flashes. I can't remember which color it is cause it changes.

Exp: 2 short flashes and 1 long flash = code 3

Fantastic response. Thank you Forum!
If I don't have ABS brake function on front disk brakes, I wonder if something from the exploding tire may have damaged a rear ABS brake device. Is that likely? Will have to crawl under there and take a look. Thanks
