No, a leak in the EGR tube can't hurt the valve.

have you pulled the spark plugs yet and checked them

yes I pulled the plugs again today, they all look the way they should. I actually thought the truck stalled on me tonight at a stop sign it's running so good haha. I havent checked the egr yet. My pump took a crap. I'll grab one this week sometime
