Default 96' F150 O/D button relocation

Greetings,
I am getting a new Monster E4OD transmission and would like to mount a shifter on the floor. I could leave the old shifter in place just to use the O/D on/off switch but would like to install a new switch in the dash so I can eliminate the shifter on the column. Has anyone ever done this? I understand there is 3 wires that are color coded. What kind of push button switch would you recommend and how would you wire the new switch? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

couldn't you just use the switch from the shifter? iv not looked to far into this but id imagine any push button thats as close as possible to the 1 in the shifter would work, also it should be cake to just pull the wires out of the shifter and run them behind the dash to where you need them for the button.

the button can be removed from the shifter, i had to replace it on my 150. just get a flat tip screw driver and pry the cap off, then you will be able to pull the button out.

If you ever get stuck looking for a button, the 1997 on trucks use the same button, discovered that about a week ago.
