Just pull codes and engine vacuum. Quit doing it the hard way. I`m not bashing you,I`m trying to safe you and the truck from all the frustration. If there are codes it will sure help pin point the problems.

Try swapping the TFI (thick film ignition) module out with one you can grab from the junkyard... Its on your driver side fender. Or go buy one. I had a similar issue that turned into a no start condition after a while, the truck would barely idle... TFI fixed it up... You need to put the set screws on the TB back to stock, and might as well check the timing on the motor, and you should be purring in no time.

Not really... But its grounded out on a heat sink that you need to make sure is properly thermally greased... Sometimes they corrode, and sometimes just a part of the module fails... If you buy a new one, it should come with the grease on it... Just unbolt the heat sink, unplug the connector, and then unbolt the TFI from the heat sink... Its about a 5 minute job...

They used to have them on the distributor, but water, and heat was killing them, so they moved them to the driver side fender, by the firewall. Good luck..

BTW... If that doesn't work for you, then your next possible culprit will be the TPS sensor (throttle position sensor). Its on the throttle body bolted underneath it.. You will need to remove the TB to get at it...

Okay I called the parts store and they don't have a listing for a tfi sensor...would it possibly be by any other name?
