Default 93 won't start

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and the F150 as well.
The truck is an 1993 F150 with the 5.0 automatic.
It has the dual fuel tanks.

Last week it decided it didn't want to start.
I checked the basic. Spark, fuel and air all seem ok.
I had someone tell me to do a fuel pressure check.
So I did found out that it would only show pressure (42psi) when the key was first turn on and the pump was in cycle, then go to almost zero. pump off cycle but key still on.
If I bypass the test connector like the manual say then I get a staedy 42psi.
I wan;t sure if I had a problem but I was advised to check the fuel regulator and that i may have leaking injectors so I replaced the fuel regulator and all the injectors with rebuilt one. Still won't start.

As i was scratching my butt, I decided to check the oil level and found the oil to be clear land smell like fuel.

I took the plugs out and turn the engine over and what I got was a ton of fuel out of the #8 cylinder.

I swapped injectors and the problem stays in the # 8.
I even disconnected the electrical connector from that injector and still problem remains.

When I got the truck I replaced the coil, spark plugs and wires.

I also replaced the module and distributor, cap rotor because it was using too much fuel and sounded like it had a slight miss at cruising speed.

I'm not a master mechanic by no means but,I do have some mechanical skills. Obiously not enough to be able to fix this problem.

I'm lost! If someone could give me some ideas on what direction to go,
Please do.

I'm already thinking about dumping it or dropping a carb in it.

Not sure how that would work so I'll start another post on that just in case.
.

well if the oil is clear and smells like gas? well every time you turn the key on in a fuel injected vehicle, it squirts fuel into the cylinders. and if it dont run. well all that fuel seeps by the rings and into the crankcase. so i would change the oil on it. check for codes also. even though your check engine light may not be on, it may still have stored codes. let us know what you find.

I checked for codes and none came up.
I'll check in the morning and make sure I'm doing it right.

If i understand this part of the fuel system. When you turn the key to on , the pump should come on and pressurize the fuel rail to 40 psi or so. Pump will shut off but presurre should remain in the fuel rail from regulator to injector.

Once the key is taken to start position then the fuel injector should start injecting fuel. Until then they are close.

In order word the injector is close until the key is turn to start.

Does this make sense or am I hitting the b--g too often?

Pulled the codes again this morning and none showed up.
I also change the oil. At least half of it was fuel.
Out of ideas, wish i knew more about the system.

As i read other post here i found many similar problems with no fix or guys are not posting once problem found.

Did you get code 11? Even with no codes you will get code 11. The b--g hurts a bit much for me.

Well, it's good that you found that #8 is getting extreme amounts of fuel. I don't completely understand how batch fire works, but there can be a short in the trigger wire for cylinder injectors 1,4,5, and 8. The wire is tan and runs to those injectors from the computer. All the injectors have a common power and are fired by a ground signal from the computer. Either that wire is grounded out somewhere or the computer is keeping it grounded. That's what I would check.

OK, will start looking for a short.
Now the fun begins.
This truck is a spare vehicle but our only truck.
WE use it only when the need calls for a truck.
So I have plenty of time to figure it out or until I get tired
