figured id start a post with just the tranny issues and not a swap.
okay,it dont seem to slip in reverse.slips in all gears.when i step down on it the truck will jump.I unplugged the connector on the pass. side of the tranny and when I did there was a noise that stopped and I tried it out, slipped even worse, would barly move.I plugged it back in and when i did I heard a click then the noise was back, almost sounded like, well its hard to describe.a slight wining, not very loud...could it maybe be a bad solenoid?

Do you have a E40D or a AOD?
Fluid Level:
Full?
Low?
Overfilled? (This is just as bad as low)
Has the Fluid & Filter been changed recently?
The forward Clutch Bands in the transmission may be worn
or
The Torque Converter could be bad.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are the Throttle Cables hooked up as they should be?
The reason I'm asking;
On AOD transmissions, there are two cables connected to the throttle body,
one of the cables enables the transmission to downshift properly,
it's called TV Control Cable (TV = Throttle Valve)
and if not hooked up or adjusted correctly, the forward clutch bands will wear-out rapidly and the transmission will have to be rebuild or replaced.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The E40D transmission is electronically controlled by the EEC computer.
There are Five Solenoids which control Gear Selection, Gear Change Harshness and Torque Converter Lockup or Coast operation.
All I got!
