If you want the rear fender openings to match the front you have to use the '87 rear fenders though.

Ok have agreed to buy an 86 step side bed in the morning. Looks good for my project. Gonna have to figure out how to fab up a new filler tube to my rear tank as its a front side filler on this bed...

Put in a front tank instead. Or, isn't the gas door on the fender? Get a dual tank fender or cut a new door on the fender or attach the neck to the fender and use a chrome cap.

The sides are fiberglass and looks like i should be able to swap out the locations fairly easy. Gonna be looking for a good bed kit as the wood was rotten. all the metal is strait but the fiberglass needs a little attention. But for $200 i got a steal
