Question 90 5.8 auto

my bro just got a 90 f250 sure is pretty close set up as 150 but was my old one sold to buddy and now own again. any way we were woundering if there is any thing that isnt needed on the motor like smog stuff that will help with power or is it all needed to run. any other suggestions to quick power with out realy tearing into it. it has new trans and shift kit with swapped out axles now 4-10s, true dual with H pipe and no cats exits in front of tires

As long as you don't have inspections then you don't need the catalytic converter or the smog pump and tubes. Keep the EGR.

You can either get a pulley to take the pump's place, or a shorter belt.

You will need plugs for the back of the heads where the tubes connect.

You'll need to plug your cat where it pumps fresh air into it.

Leave the solenoids in place and you won't have to worry about the CEL.

There have been a couple of threads on this recently - seems like a couple of the major chip makers can custom build one for these trucks (you'll want any and all mods done before they build a chip for your motor). Not much off-the-shelf stuff out there.
