Default 89' "Check Engine" Light

So since I've had my truck when ever your driving on the road and your foot is on the pedal the check engine always flashes, it flashes as if you were trying to read codes, I've been ignoring it and in the past month it will just stay on and not flash then 10 minutes later it turns off. In the past two days I've added 250+ miles to my truck and while driving 35 miles an hour it came on when i got on the interstate and was going 65 it turned off after mile and went back to flashing like it always does. The second day it came on at the same place after meeting paved road from a dirt road, except this time it stayed on for 14 miles. After each trip i was always under the hood continually checking alll the fluids making sure everything was ok. Any ideas?

Have someone read the codes and go from there. An excellent article in the How to Section about this.

The instructions to pull codes are now at the top of this section.
