89 Bronco Rearend work
I just bought a Bronco that is in excellent shape but the junkyard limited slip that the previous owner put in it is messed up. There are broken teeth on the ring and pinion gears. What do I have to take apart in order to replace both the ring and pinion? Can I just take the differential cover off to replace them or will both axle shafts need to be pulled? I am fairly familiar with non limited slip rear ends but I am not so sure about limited slips. Also, he said that the smog pump froze up and will not allow the pulley to turn. Does anyone know where I can buy a new smog pump fairly cheap? I would just buy the eliminator pulley but I need the pump to pass state inspection.
Thanks.
PS Don't worry I didn't sell the F150. She is still going strong.
