The EGR is mounted where the T/B coolant set up is located. EGR gets very very hot, w/ heat radiating to the T/B.

Probably more detrimental to the hoses.

Like Sean said, remove tb, heat around the fitting, remove it, thread the hole to 1\4 pipe, and get a fitting to make it work. It is there for a reason, some things Ford does actually are done for a good reason and make sense.

You can also go to the hardware store and get some plumbers epoxy to seal the leak. I've used it on radiators and fuel tanks with no probs. Just remember to properly prep the surfaces!

x3. We may or may not know exactly why Ford does some of their stuff, but there's a method to their madness & they wouldn't do it if it wasn't necessary (as mentioned).

When tapping, use a cutting lubricant & don't cut thread too far before backing out. Then proceed further. Aluminum tends to tear if you're too aggressive w/ it. (poor thread seal)
Don't use a steel fitting. Brass!

If you patch it, Murphy's law will eventually bite you in the *** (or head gasket)!

Sounds good, looks like I'll tear into this thing once again. Me and my tap set are good friends
