Default 87 f150

i have a 87 f150 w/302 auto trans w/od 4x4 as of lately when i first start it it misses really bad like it is flooded then when it gets warm it idles about 2500 rpms i went to a salvage yard and got a idle air control valve and it still does it any suggestions thanks

Most likely vacuum leak, also check the hose to the fuel pressure regulator.

i can take the hose off the fuel pressure reg. and it changes nothing at all should it?

also my brake booster is leaking inside the truck could this have anything to do with it

The booster shouldnt matter, I had one leak for a while and it didnt affect anything. If unsure pull the hose off the booster and plug it up and see what happens, if you drive it dont forget there is no brake vacuum assist.

i have pulled the hose off and when i put my finger over it it kills the engine also i can unplug the map sensor i think (the sensor on the pass. side on firewall with vac. hose to it) and it will idle right i dont know what to try guess im gonna try to get the codes from it
