Default 87-91 headlights!!!!

Ok so a while back I had my other thread (87-91 crystal headlights) I had an idea of how to make smoked-look headlights. Well it's now been tested. I separated the lens off the housing. Restored both sides of the lens..then taped off the chrome inside and painted the non-chrome gloss black. Then used clear rtv torel reseal the lens. Tell me what you think! Oh..and I think we all know who to credit for the custom grille idea. Thanks jonah! Oh yeah I used the blue magic headlight lens restorer. Its two steps and done.

I was under the impression twilliams9 was the first guy with the mesh grille? Anyways! Love the look of it, and the headlights, WOW! That's a major yet subtle difference. I like it. How did you separate the lens from the housing?

Jonah custom fabricated a mesh one for gen 9. I made that grille after I saw his thread about it. Then tweaked it to my tastes

hah I'm gonna have to try that. Is the chrome trim on the headlights attached to the lens? I like it and don't wanna break it

Well ****. Wasn't aware he made one. If you look at his angle picture..you still see where he had cut the center out. Like the flat spots. I sanded mine all down and filled it with quicksteel. Then I carefully taped off the chrome and painted that very inside lip black too
