Default 5 spring vs 4 spring leafs

I'm new to the forum, so hello all! I bought an '89 Custom this spring. I've recently pulled the bed to fix some of the rust on the frame and replace the leaf spring hangers, only to find half the leafs were cracked. I bought a set out and the junk yard and asked for 4 leafs, but of course they gave me a set of 5 leafs (my old man picked them up for me while I was at work so I didn't get a chance to look at them ). Could anyone tell me the pros and cons of using the 4 leaf set vs the 5 leaf set? I'm really debating on whether I should take these back and get the 4 leafs.

Thanks,

Ryan

If I'm wrong please correct me But I think it might just allow you to hold more weight in the back But could be wrong. One other thing is might need longer
U bolts.

I'm pretty sure the ride will be stiffer, the rear will be higher, and you will be able to carry heavier loads. You can always remove a leaf.
