Default 5.5 to 4.5 bolt pattern?

Hey guys, just trying to get some info on how I would go about converting to the 4.5 bolt pattern. I've heard it can be done but not sure, seen something about swapping spindles from an 80-83 onto my 1990 and everything working out? Not sure though. Has anyone done something like this? Not really wanting to go with spacers that change the bolt pattern because my truck is to low for any of the wheel to be sticking out of the fender. Hope someone's got some info on this!

Why? Plenty of rim choices for 5.5.

Not any the style I would like to go with, I can't find many 5x5.5 wheels that look that great on a lowered truck.

Seriously? Dodge still uses 5.5. Plenty of aftermarket support.

As well as Toyota tundra, Land Cruiser.Sequia. Where I at you can find some nice 17 and 18 inch takeoffs.

They are out there. Check out summitracing.com. They're pricey, but nice!

Even if you could convert the front. You'd still have to do the back. This would involve changing the axles which is no big deal but I'm not sure the aftermarket supports that. Sell the wheels you have and get the right ones to fit the truck. You will be haply you did.

Is it 2wd?
1980, 81 f100s have 4.5inch bolt pattern, and the rotor should fit your spindle.
Any machine shop shoul be able to re drill the axles, then either use the f100 drum, or re drill yours, dads working on an 81 now, thats how i know.

That's good to hear Scraptor, I appreciate the help. I've already found new axle shafts that will fit my truck and change it to 4.5. I hope it all works out, gonna have to find some cheap rotors to try it all out!
