Do you have manual or auto hubs. Others have had problems with wiring, shifting motors and computer problems.

Most likely the electric motor that shifts the transfercase into 4wd is shot.

With it in 4X check under the vehicle to see if the front drive shaft will turn with the engine off. You can have the ignition of if needed to activate the electrical switches. If the front driveshaft does not turn then your problems are in the hubs, if it does turn your problem is in either the shift motor or the electrical switch or wires.

Then start looking into the hubs, unless you can spin it the other direction more than just a little bit. If your hubs worked it will take 1/2 to a couple of revolutions to lock up the auto hubs. If you have a salvage yard, get the entire hub assembly from on with manual hubs. The warn kits are about 70 for the standard and another 60 for the conversion kits.
